Lets start off with what is the agricultural. Agricultural is the intentional planting of crops and raising of domesticated animals for substance(food) and economic gain(money). Now, the Neolithic Revoltuion ws major turning point for all us. If it wasn't for this revolution, then we would proably be out hunting and gathering. If some of you didn't know, before were able to grow crops and domesticte animals, we would actually be out hunting and gathering. Also known as nomads. We moved from place to place and were usually groups of 20-30. Men would hunt game and women would gather berries, fruits and other edibles. This was the Paleothic Period.
The beginning of the Neolithic Period started about 10,000 BCE. We then started to cultivate crops and domesticate animals. This shift led to permanent settlement, establishment of social classes, and evnetual rise of civilizations. This occurred first in the Fertile Crescent, also know as the hearth. other hearths were the Nile River Valley, Peru, South-Central Mexico, Niger River Valley, Ethiopia, and Yellow River Valley. Now what is domestication? Domestication is th deliberate effort to manipulate species for an advantage. Examples are dogs and corn. We first domesticated animlas, the first ones were the dog/chicken and then the pig. Most animlas found for domestication were found in Eurasia. Only two were from Africa. They would domesticate animlas and take them to graze. That was basically the domestication of animals.
Carl Suer's theory was that agricultural would only flourish in a land of planty. What he meant by that was that the land had to be full of nutrients to farm and graze animlas. Some discoveries were that they were able to cultivate crops and domesticate animals. They were also able to make permanent homes. Though as this started to happen, a women's status started to decline as men took over most of the villages lead. Villages were usually run by a council of elders, had a chief leader. This is also where wars started to rise due to resources. Social class was usually determined by what work they did. They also created a calender to keep track of planting and harvesting, they also developed tools that would essentially help them in the field. They also had effects on us. Like for example, we now have permanent sttlements that we call home. This also helped to develop new technologies like need to develop new tools and weapons for their new lifestyle. Because of this we now have homes, animlas to graze, and crops to cultivate.
